Diet Sodas

We all know that soda (or pop) is one of the most evil things you can put in your body... the nasty chemicals, the gut-fattening high fructose corn syrup and a load of health problems are caused by this carbonated drink, worshipped by those who don't care about their body or health. Did you know that about 50% of surveyed Americans still drink soda on a daily basis? Among those who drink soda, the average daily intake was about 3 glasses per day!

Many people believe that "diet" soda is in some way a good thing for losing body fat. In fact, I hear people all the time proudly say that they "only drink diet soda and eat so healthy!"  But your body can't digest the brown pigmentation, causing it to hold on to one coke for three weeks, which in result can cause cellulite.

SO lets set the record straight....

There is NOTHING even remotely healthy about drinking diet soda. In fact, several studies show that dedicated diet soda drinkers gained even more weight than their regular soda drinking counterparts.

One thing about the effects of artificial sweeteners is clear, they "fool" your body into thinking it is drinking something very sweet, (sweetened by artificial sweeteners) but you don't actually get the sugar calories your body expects and needs, but your brain can't be fooled. The reward centers in the brain are left empty, this can leave you agitated, irritable and sleepy.

Another reason for weight gain from drinking diet sodas is that people may think because they're drinking diet soda, that they can eat more of everything else, resulting in consuming more calories. It can also leave you feeling like you need more sugar.

So what would be a good alternative to "diet" sodas?  The best alternatives would be pure water, water with lemon, grapefruit, lime, orange or other citrus essential oils, water infused with fruits (such as berries or cucumber), and unsweetened teas. Whether it be black, green, white, red, etc. If you do want to add some natural sweetness, try a natural sweetener, such as: menuka honey, monk fruit, agave etc. Do good to your body and you will see great results!
